Michael Shamblen Receives Promotion to Director of Human Resources

In his new role as Comprehensive Health Services Director of Human Resources (HR), Michael will manage the HR-related programs and processes in support of our organizational goals, lines of business, and human capital management and development for Domestic, International and Corporate operations. Michael will report to Dean Rosenquist, Sr. VP, Human Resources.

Michael has extensive experience in human resources management and business management. Prior to joining Comprehensive Health Services, he served as the Director of Human Resources for Beitzel Corporation, Inc., Grantsville, Maryland leading the HR functions of the Industrial Construction Company operating in the Central Mid-Atlantic States. While at Beitzel Corporation, Michael was appointed by the President of the Garrett County Chamber of Commerce to the Chairman position of the Chamber’s HR Roundtable. There he coordinated and provided monthly presentations on current HR topics and best practices.

Prior to working for the Beitzel Corporation, Michael worked at Wisp Resort in McHenry, Maryland. He managed the Human Resource and Accounting office as their Business Manager. Michael developed HR policies and programs that increased the efficiency and quality of the resort’s organizational functions.

Michael also worked for CSX Corporation – the east coast’s largest railroad – in the heart of the C&O business unit, Russell, KY. As Yardmaster, Michael controlled all train traffic in an out of the yard and managed the crews that built trains supplying major industries all throughout the mid-Atlantic and east coast. He was later promoted to Trainmaster where he directed Yardmasters in the Russell yard and supplied yard reporting to CSX Division and Corporate Headquarters.

Michael has a Bachelor’s Degree with a focus in Business and Psychology from West Virginia University, and a Master’s Degree in Business Administration from Morehead State University. Michael also has a Masters Certificate in Human Resource Management and is a certified Human Resource professional with two national HR associations; Society of Human Resource Management – Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) and the Human Resources Certification Institute as a Senior Professional of Human Resource (SPHR).
