Breast Cancer Awareness Month

In honor of October being Breast Cancer Awareness Month, the CHSi headquarters office developed a creative idea to encourage awareness and to raise money for the cause.

Each department in our Cape Canaveral, Florida office created a themed basket to raffle at the end of the month with proceeds going to breast cancer research. It was a team effort, as each department purchased items to go into their themed basket. Some of the basket themes were: Dinner and A Movie (over $200 worth of movies and dinner gift certificates), Fishing For A Cure, Kisses For A Kure, Grilling For A Cure, Pamper Yourself Pink, Doggie Basket, Fun in the Sun, Picnic for Two, and Growing a Garden Basket. The twelve baskets were displayed in the office and employees were able to purchase raffle tickets for one dollar each and put their name down in an effort to win the baskets of their choice.

Employees also donated money to receive a pink ribbon to wear throughout the month of October. The raffle event was a huge success! The total amount raised during the month of October was $1,293.00. This amount was divided and donated to Making Strides Against Breast Cancer in Brevard, Florida and the Breast Cancer Research Foundation.
