International Biographic - LeeAnn Tufts
It's amazing looking back to see just how far I have come in my professional career during my time with CHS and the friends I have made along the way. I worked for CHS starting as a temp in 2003 as an Administrative Assistant. From there, I was able to advance through the company and had the opportunity to work on government, commercial, hybrid, and international contracts throughout the years.
In 2012, I was asked to deploy for a short-term assignment to support an international contract working as an Administrative Assistant/Logistician. It was only supposed to be a four-month assignment. Upon deploying and through displaying my hard work and dedication, I was asked to stay on. From there, I continued to work and for most of the last 6 years. My last and most challenging position was as the Sr. Business Administration Manager in the PMO department.
When I decided it was time to come home I found an opportunity to work at Kennedy Space Center for a prime contractor under NASA. I am happy to say, I have transitioned well into the NASA environment and am thoroughly enjoying my time here. Just like with CHS, I am learning and growing in my time here so far and am happy to see what the future holds.
In my current position, I get to work at the Launch Control Center (LCC) creating what are called mini schedules. You know how during the launches they say T-10, 9, 8... Liftoff! I create and maintain the schedules down to the second that all the NASA directors, test conductors, and engineers use during mission launches, testing, and validation. It's amazing the coordination that's required among all the different departments for a successful launch. I get to work with some truly genius minds here at the LCC.
All of this would not have been possible without the experience and support I received at CHS.
