“MY BOSS IS A PATRIOT AWARD”

National Committee for Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve Recognizes CHS for Helping Maintain Strength and Readiness of
National Guard and Reserve Units

CAPE CANAVERAL, Fla. – February 24, 2005 - Comprehensive Health Services (CHS), an occupational health services company, today announced that the Company has been honored by the Office of the Assistant Secretary of Defense’s National Committee for Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve with the My Boss Is a Patriot Award for supporting CHS employees based at the Kennedy Space Center who are deployed on active duty. The award was presented to Mel Hall, CHS’ CEO.

Maria Escobales, MSG USAR, an environmental health specialist for CHS nominated the Company for the award. She noted, “The support that CHS shows its Reserve and Guard employees is critical to maintaining the strength and readiness of our country’s National Guard and Reserve. When I receive orders for active duty, CHS maintains my vacation and sick leave benefits, pays the salary differential, and they also go a step above and beyond a typical employer by keeping in touch with my family to make sure they are fine while I’m away from home for weeks, months, and years at a time.”

CHS has five employees based at the Kennedy Space Center who are Guard and Reserve members, including environmental health specialists who belong to the Army Reserve, Air Force Guard and Coast Guard. At the Space Port, CHS performs pre-placement, fitness-for-duty, and exposure certification exams; and provides onsite employee health units; a health education and wellness program using voluntary cardiovascular disease monitoring and risk assessment; and occupational medicine, environmental health, industrial hygiene, health physics, public health, hazardous waste management, and environmental services.

The National Committee for Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve recognizes employers for employment policies and practices that are supportive of their employees' participation in the National Guard and Reserve. All employer recognition and awards originate from nominations by individual Reserve component members. The My Boss is a Patriot Award is given to dedicated employers whose support and good will are important to retaining highly skilled and qualified members of the Guard and Reserve.
