ECONOMIC VALUE OF ONSITE CLINICS IN HEALTHCARE REFORM TOPS AGENDA AT WORLD RESEARCH GROUP SUMMIT

Senior Research Analyst Metcalfe to Present Comprehensive
Health Services’ Predictive Modeling System for Optimal Cost,
Disease and Risk Factor Assessment

RESTON, VA. – February 9, 2010 – As healthcare reform continues to dominate global public and private interests, the World Research Group (WRG) will spotlight the economic benefit of Onsite Health at its 3rd annual Health Clinic Summit scheduled for February 24-26, 2010 in Orlando, FL. Comprehensive Health Services (CHS) Senior Research Analyst Leanne N. Metcalfe, PhD will address the Summit on Breaking Down the Financials of Onsite Care. www.worldrg.com/onsite

“Performing a thorough financial analysis to optimize employer ROI in on-site health care is driven by a host of different factors,” Dr. Metcalfe said. “The financial feasibility of onsite clinics has been historically derived from data driven claims analysis of the clinic population's disease and risk burden. In addition, to fully evaluate employer return on investment, it is also essential to track health care utilization patterns that can affect the scope and scale of the resources and services required,” Metcalfe said.

Dr. Metcalfe will give a detailed review of how to perform a thorough ROI analysis by combining large data sources, such as community surveys and Electronic Medical Record data in addition to the historical claims data, in order to estimate the disease/risk burden. The predictive models that CHS uses during its feasibility analysis process provide an inexpensive and efficient means to accurately determine the value of an onsite clinic as a good business decision for an employer.

Most recently serving as Affiliate Research Faculty at the Georgia Tech and Emory University Health Systems Institute, Metcalfe was a leading member of a program underwritten by Georgia Tech in partnership with CHS that produced the Workforce Health Assessment Model (WHAM), a new strategy using analytics for reducing employer health-care costs by analyzing demographic data for a particular workforce population. She continues to serve as an Affiliate of the Research Faculty at Georgia Tech.
